The Issue

IPAC Canada is calling for urgent action to enhance our nation health technology value chains by increasing investment in Canada’s research networks and institutions.

Canada is in a delicate economic position and our next steps will be pivotal in positioning ourselves as a global leader in health technology innovation. The Trump administration poses a serious threat to the availability of research and innovation funding in North America, leaving gaps and hampering global progress.

Canada is well positioned to step in and fill these gaps and cement itself as a global leader in health technology and a reliable partner in scientific research and innovation.

IPAC Canada is urging decision-makers to implement the following:

Increase funding for paid research positions and grants

Dedicate a stream of funding for small-scale research hubs and startups

Enhance knowledge-sharing capabilities and spearhead global collaboration

The choices our leaders make today will determine Canada’s viability as a global leader and economic partner for generations to come. We must act swiftly and with steadfast determination to lead our global partners through these challenges and protect future generation of Canadian.
